Kyuri Kim, born in Seoul, South Korea, is an electronic musician and interdisciplinary artist working under the name QRIAN. With a background in singer-songwriting and electronic music production, her practice explores cross-cultural identity, socio-political discourse, place and nature, emotion and state, and the shifting boundaries between humans and machines. Her academic background spans MA in Computational Arts, BMus in Popular Music, and FC in Popular Music and Sound Technology, having studied at Goldsmiths, University of London, and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).

Her current work focuses on computational and mixed-reality systems across data, sound, interaction, and tangible interfaces. Her recent project, Emosmiths: Proof of Tears, draws on decentralised systems and speculative forms of sci-fi capital fiction to question how human emotion might be valued and eventually integrated into increasingly mechanised social systems. Across her practice, QRIAN examines how resonance between humans and machines can reshape our perceptions of authenticity, creating vivid, present-tense encounters through multisensory stimuli and narratives.
